451 Engine

I found the 451 Manifesto, by "451 boy" very useful.

This page has lots of pictures, it may load a little slow.

My 451 CID engine is a 1975 400 block bored to 4.375" (+0.033) with a 3.75" stroke 440 crankshaft.
It is being built for my future bracket racing car.

The above Ross Pistons are off the shelf for a 400 block, 3.915" stroke, and 440 length rods. However, the compression height (1.238") works with my 3.75" stroke and 6.865 (hemi) length rods.

I made my own billet aluminum rocker shaft hold downs. On the left is after I bored the 0.875" hole to fit the shafts. On the right is the finished product (cut in half).
